Ruedi Weber has joined the Gilgen Logistics management board as the head of Customer Service. This means that the top management of this Swiss intralogistics specialist is once again complete and ideally positioned to handle any demands the future may hold.

Eleven companies from three countries, together in a “Special Interest Group”, have set the goal to develop a state of the art, reference warehouse that can be operated fully autonomous for 48 hours. With this premise, the Association “Network Logistics Switzerland” launched its four years innovation program for an “Intelligent Dark Warehouse” in early February 2021. Gilgen Logistics is part of this innovation program.

Gilgen Logistics, a Swiss family-owned company that operates internationally, is expanding its existing team and opening a Development Center for stacker cranes in the Stuttgart area. A new team with a great deal of know-how has begun under the leadership of Thomas Riffert, a specialist with thorough expertise. Gilgen is thus strengthening its core competence in automated high-bay storage facilities and intends to further expand its position in the international market as one of the leading specialists in intralogistics and materials handling technology.

Migros Aare, the largest of the ten Migros cooperatives, is expanding its logistics platform. Gilgen Logistics was commissioned to realize the new plant with automated tray and pallet conveyor systems, including management, material flow computer and visualization.

The Swiss Museum of Transport and the Logistics Foundation present the special exhibition "Logistics, goods traffic and supply chain". Gilgen Logistics AG is sponsor of this unique project in favor of the logistics scene and its young talents and is participating in the "interactive media wall" to represent the logistics supply chain.

The situation with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic is actually very serious that some suppliers had to shut down their factories. The closure of these plants has a significant impact on our deliverability. We assure you that we will do everything to maintain our service.

René Holzer has resigned as CEO of Gilgen Logistics AG and will leave the company at the end of August 2020.
