In this episode of ‘Coffee & Career’, we introduce you to Roland Hirschi: test mechanic in prototype construction and all-rounder at Gilgen Logistics.
Roland starts his day by checking the system: are there any new production orders? He then writes up the previous day's work report and makes his rounds through the building – from the compressor system to the waste disposal points.
He prefers working on the milling machine or lathe. Creating a precise workpiece from a block of iron or aluminium is the best part of his job.
What he particularly appreciates about Gilgen:

And after work? Roland finds his balance at the gym, shooting or tinkering with 3D printers and electronics. And when time allows, he also enjoys working on his 1977 Ford Mustang.
