The initiative Blue Competence stands for leadership in innovation and technology for mechanical and plant engineering and construction in the sphere of sustainable solutions. Be they members of, participants in or partners to the initiative, the brand distinguishes them – on the basis of verifiable criteria – as providers of solutions in line with the market that improve quality of life, are environmentally-friendly as well as energy- and resource-efficient.
Participating in Blue Competence, an initiative initiated by the VDMA [German Engineering Association], Gilgen Logistics has for years been increasingly committed to energy efficiency, safety and ergonomics.
To obtain sustainable complete logistics systems, we point out potential energy savings to you already during the designing and planning phases. Not only are individual components included, but rather the overall intra-logistics system has to be considered.
For long-term savings in energy and operating costs, all of a facility’s life cycles as well as its subsystems and elements are evaluated beforehand and continually reviewed.
Gilgen Logistics design guidelines include sustainability criteria that cover all of a product’s life cycles.
As part of a design review, these are examined and their implementation is evaluated according to the following aspects:
Recycling and disposal
Transport logistics (products and packaging volumes and weight)
